I have always been an avid reader. I also like chocolate and mashed potatoes, but generally not together. I’ve had a strange and varied life that includes training in ballet, joining the Marine Corps and getting degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. This will all be useful for a future dystopian novel about a dancing Marine who saves the galaxy from an invasion of nerds. Maybe it can be a musical (can books be musicals?)
But I digress…
I rekindled my love of writing while reading books to my children. It was a bit like “Hey, I can write like that!” It ends up that if you put ten years of effort into perfecting your craft… then you still probably can’t write like that. But you do get closer.
I have been a member of the Society of Children’s Bookwriters and Illustrators since 2010. I have had the privilege of working and discussing writing with both burgeoning and established authors. And since talking about writing is exactly the same as actually writing, I’m super qualified to be an author.
The Book of Dreams is the first novel in a middle grade fantasy quadrilogy (that’s a real word, honest).
